Nairana is the result of some parents' concern to provide their high school age children with an environment which would further their intellectual, spiritual and human development. Activities centre around supervised study sessions daily, complemented by study methods courses, tutorials and other academic activities such as public speaking. A regular program of sport and camping and excursions complement the rest of the centre activities during the holiday periods. Students regularly visit the elderly and the sick in neighbouring nursing homes, providing company and small services while learning to develop a spirit of generosity and service.
